Swords are close-quarters weapons consisting of a long, sharp blade and a short handle. Swords are perhaps the most diverse of weapon groups, as they can be made in a variety of different styles. Due to their mass-producability and ease of training, the sword is by far the most common primary weapon for the world's footsoldiers.

Like all other weapon groups, swords are presented here divided into simple, martial, and exotic weapon categories. They are further divided into light, one handed, and two handed.
